Bible Reading: GEN. 12,13,
“Now LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:” – Gen. 12:1 (KJV).
The call of Abraham is one of the most important event in the old testament. Here we have a wonderful example of prompt, unquestioning Obedience to a word whereby Abraham was removed from the land of his nativity into the promise land.
In our text, God started by showing him a place, a picture of his future. Through out history, tremendous breakthroughs and progress have been made by people who have seen things that were not yet here.
Dr. Myles Munroe says:“I think that the greatest gift God ever gave man is not the gift of sight but the gift of vision,” and that’s true! “Sight is a function of the eyes, but vision is a function of the heart. When a person doesn’t have a vision, they live by their eyes. That means they live by what they see. That’s one of the reasons why people are so frustrated and depressed, because their future never becomes reality.
Vision, therefore, is the unveiling of God’s plan for an individual. It is the revelation of God’s intention, plan and purpose for a man. So God Showed Abram the picture of his future, because He knows there are times it may look like perhaps, the vision has been delayed , but if he can hold on to the picture, then can he achieve it. YOU CAN’T GET WHAT YOU DON’T SEE!!
Friends, to find fulfilment in life that will give permanent rest, one must have access to God’s Vision and plan for one’s life otherwise life becomes a struggle. No one understands a product more than the manufacturer; God is our maker, if you must know the plans He has for you for your future, then you must go to Him, the source of your life.
Thus, in exchange to Abraham’s obedience, God continued His amazing promises on him and his seed. The Question is’ WHAT CAN YOU SEE? Abraham trusted God to the point of giving up all; his past, future and present. Christ surrendered all, He endured the cross for the the joy (picture/vision) that was set before Him.
“Vision is a source of hope; it’s the source of courage; it’s the source of perseverance in the midst of difficulty.”
As you go out this morning, I want you to know that a life without vision is dead. Vision is the lifeline that breed continuity. It preserves life and gives rest to the carrier. Vision builds hope and reassure the heart for better future. Vision is life to those who possess it.
My desire is that you will surrender all to God and be inspired, motivated and challenged to get back in the race towards your dreams, to get back the passion in fulfilling your vision and goal, as you do, I see you achieving the greatest in God’s purpose and plan for your life in Jesus name, Amen .
keep living, keep going and keep winning.
Prayer:
Father, in the name of Jesus, unveil to me those plans, purpose, intention that you have for me on earth.
