Bible Reading: 1 Kings 21, 22; Luke 23: 29-56
“But we speak wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” – 1 Corinthians 2:7-8 (KJV)
A story was told of a university where a large number of students were waiting in a lecture theatre for a new lecturer to be introduced by the Head of Department. The waiting took a little longer than expected, so the students began to murmur. When the HOD eventually arrived, he came alone and was about apologising to the students of his inability to present the lecturer when the young lecturer motioned from among the students to signal his presence. In the students’ view, he did not look like a lecturer at all.
Just as the above story illustrates, what Jesus carried was outrightly unknown to the princes of this world. The way He addressed issues during His life time was amazing to them and they kept wondering what manner of man was this! Not only that, the claim that He and the Father are one was completely strange to them since to the Pharisees no human being can equal God in power and all standards. This lack of understanding made Him to be led to where he was crucified by the princes of this world. The Scripture says, “When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him…” – Luke 23:33 (NIV)
I ask you, do you know Jesus Christ? Are you still crucifying Him with your daily lifestyles? There is need to have a change of heart before it is too late! Know Him now before it is too late. Christ who you fail to know now shall wait to judge you at the end of day.
Prayer: Dear Jesus Christ, help me to know You more as long as I live
