Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 25-27, John 16.
“And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me” – John 16:3 (KJV).
It is very clear from the happenings all around us that a lot of people do not know God. So many ills abound because of lack of God’s Word in many. Jesus came to the world to open us fully to the knowledge and life of God.
Knowing God begin by accepting His son Jesus into our lives, know what His word say, applying what the word say, manifesting His presence and teaching others what His word says. God, by His Word, has transformed a lot of lives. However, practically following His word and ways have put many Christians in unpleasant conditions, as the Lord forewarned.
Stories abound of Christians in work places who are being persecuted because of the knowledge of God’s Word in them that they applied. Imagine defaming and telling lies against a person because he refused to take part in a plot to defraud his company, because God warns against stealing. Some even end up losing their jobs. Jesus said these would happen because the world does not know Him, nor the Father.
Thank God we know Him and still asking for grace to grow in the knowledge of Him and His son, and His presence around us. Jesus already told us, …” in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” We should endeavour to go out to invite people to Jesus, without whom they cannot get saved nor know God (John 3:16).
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me grow in the knowledge of you and God.
