…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading:  2 Chronicles 20-22;   John 16:1 – 15

“And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15 (KJV)

Our adversary, the devil, usually launches his attacks at a time when we believe all things are going well. We may be enjoying life, good health, a good home, strong relationships in our families, and out of nowhere, something we didn’t expect just attacks our peace of mind, and what used to be a blessed life, suddenly becomes filled with loss, pain, and sorrow. This is the scenario the people of Judah found themselves when some nations came together to attack them. Then the word of the Lord came through Jahaziel the son of Zechariah in the midst of the congregation, and he delivered the message from the Lord and instructions concerning what to do.

When you don’t know what God is doing, remember what HE has done in the past. Jehoshaphat rehearses what God has done. On one hand he is praising God, but on the other hand He is involving God in the battle. This battle is not about us, it is about God’s omnipotence. All attacks of the enemy is about possession. If you are God’s possession, then God becomes responsible for your problem. This is how we must fight our battles: We must take them before the Lord. We must be ready and prepared to go to war. We must stand and watch. We must give Him Praise. We will only have true victory when we live in a state of obedient surrender before God. “For the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah didn’t have to fight the battle, but they did have to face it. Tomorrow, go down there and get in position; not so that you can fight, but so you can see the testimony how God fights for His childern. “Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.” – 2 Chronicles 20:17

When you worship and make God so big, then no foe can stand against you. Worship and praise affirm God’s omnipotence over any situation or circumstance. Thereby God shows himself mighty in the midst of any battle against His people.

The more sure way to handover our battles to God is in Praise. When we sing praises to God, He inhabits our praise and supernaturally set ambushment against our foes, and securing all the victory for us. “And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.” – 2 Chronicles 20:22

Prayer: Father, put a new song of praise in mouth to silence my enemies in Jesus Name.
