Bible Reading: Ps. 68 & 69; Romans 8: 1-20
“And we know that all things work together for good to them who love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose” – Romans 8:28 (KJV).
This passage should be of great encouragement to God’s people when they must endure suffering in this life.
- Concerning His faithful people, God will bring good out of all difficulties, trouble, persecution and suffering.
- This promise is limited to those who love God and have submitted to Him through faith in Christ.
- The “all things” do not necessarily include our sins and spiritual negligence. No one can excuse sin by claiming that God will work it out for good. For that matter, we often will experience the temporary consequence of those sins even after confessing them to God and receiving forgiveness.
- Yet, if we confess and truly turn from our offenses against God, He can still work out His highest purposes in our lives, no matter what our failures are.
Good morning.
Prayer: Father help me to live a life with a heart of genuine love for you.
