BIBLE READING : Psalm 148; 149; 150; 1 Corinthians15:30-58
“As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly” 1 Corinthians 15:48 (KJV).
The first man was earthy but the last man was heavenly. The new creation is recreated after the image of Christ. As believers in Christ, our citizenship is in heaven. Though we are in the world, we are not of the world. We take our identity in Christ. We are not sinners but righteous in Christ. We are God’s masterpiece created in Christ Jesus unto good works.
We carry the DNA of Jesus, for as he is, so are we in this world. His love nature and his holiness are at work in us who believe. His life is at work in us, his power works in us and through us. His love is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. We love the Lord and we love the brethren because we are partakers of God’s love. We are members of his body and the life we live is the Christ life.
New birth gives one a heavenly identity. We are like our father because we are his offspring. He is the vine, we are the branches. We bear his fruit because we partake in his nature. We are members of his body, he is the head of the body, the church.
Prayer :Thank you Jesus for our heavenly identity.
