Bible Reading: Genesis 18-19; Matthew 6
Memory verse: “Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son” Genesis 18:14 KJV
It is amazing that we read the story of creation of the world, the ease with which everything was made and how these things still exist right before us and yet we still have reservations about God. The challenges we face in life have their roots in our unbelief; lack of trust in God and His word is the main reason why a lot of people are challenged today.
Challenges, though, will come, but God has given us everything needed to overcome them. The answer to our challenges lies in the word of God you have cared to engage with your heart. No wonder Jesus, the word Himself told the devil in Matthew 4:4 KJV, ” … it is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” How important is the word of God? Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
God’s word starts working in your life the day you take it into your spirit. However, since life is spiritual it will first achieve it’s purpose in the spirit before manifesting in the physical depending on how you engaged such word. The defining point in the promise God gave to Abraham in Genesis 15:4 was when Abraham changed his name from Abram believing that he will be a father to many nations according to the word of the LORD.
With God nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37) that is why a virgin could give birth. With man, so many things are impossible. But when you believe in God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26). ‘Believe’ here is the variable factor. Lack of believe in God and His word is the reason why many are struggling in the world today. Never you laugh at the word in light of the situation around you, like Sarah did (Genesis 18:12). God does not joke with His word. Those who joke with His word do not end up well in life; remember the people in Noah’s days.
This year 2022 make it a priority to search out the word of God concerning every issue of concern. Moreso, spend more time meditating on the testimonies that came out from issues related to the ones you are facing and hold on to the word engaged therein.
Prayer: Father, help my unbelief. Open my heart to keep your word in my deepest parts and endue me with the grace to put them to work believing.
