Bible Reading: Genesis 18-19; Matthew 6
Memory verse: “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. [10] Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9-10 (KJV)
If you want to know a person more you must know his priorities. To please a person you must know what he or she likes. The same way it is with God; to know Him you must know His priorities. Whatever God prioritize is what heaven prioritize. And whatever is heaven’s priority ought to be our priority here on earth.
Jesus, the Son of God, made it clear to us when He taught His disciples how to pray the importance of aligning ourselves to heaven’s priorities. He told us these priorities in Matthew 6:9-10 ( KJV), “Matthew 6:9-10 “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. [10] Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
The name of God being hallowed is the most important act of worship in the kingdom. The angels do it all day. The name of God is heaven’s priority in this world. Whatever God does He does for His name’s sake. If it won’t glorify His name He won’t do it. So to align with heaven’s order of worship we must hallow His name first in everything we do here on earth.
Next is His will. God never does anything outside His will. His kingdom is the enforcer of His will. His will is His plan and purpose for the earth and for man. It is up to every man to know God’s will and walk according to the will. Only then can life be meaningful.
The above are the sovereignty of God and they are His priority in whatever goes on in the kingdom. Learn to walk in line with these priorities of heaven.
