Bible Reading: II Kings 1, 2, 3; Luke 24:1-27
“He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee” – Luke 24:6(KJV)
The words of God are meant to be kept and reflected upon in our hearts. The disciples who were supposed to be waiting for the resurrection of Christ, as he earlier told them, went to the sepulcher early in the morning to apply spices to his body, but they met with the greatest surprise of their lives. The stones had been rolled away from the sepulcher. What could possibly steal away this important information from them? Depression! Jesus Christ once said, that he would surely have a changed address: “For he taught his disciples, and said unto him, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day. But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him” – Mark 9:31-32 (KJV).
Each of us must consciously decide to keep the word of God in our heart regardless of the situation that is plaguing us. The disciples got to the place where Jesus’ body was kept, perplexed when they could not find him. Thanks to God who stationed two men around who could help them in the face of their confusion. In their state of perplexity, the men said, “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, saying, the son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered his words” – Luke 24:5b-8 (KJV).
Your address will change one day. When that happens, would you rise into glory or gloom? Not sure? Get into the train of Christ now and become his child before the sudden change of address happens!
Prayer Point: Dear Father, help me to always put Your Word in my heart even in the face of intense pressure in Jesus name. Amen.
