TOPIC: HOW DO YOU TREAT THE WORD OF GOD?
Bible Reading: 1 Kings 14-15; John 1:1-28
Memory verse: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” John 1:1 (KJV)
God’s word is infallible and efficacious. God is able to bring His Word to pass; His word created the whole world. There is nothing too hard for God: there is nothing He cannot do, nothing He cannot bring to pass. The problem, however, is how we relate to the word of God. Do you honour God’s word?
If “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” John 1:1 (KJV), then how do you treat God? How do you respond to God? That’s how you should treat the Word. If you don’t have value for the Word you don’t have value for God. God’s word is ordained for our promotion, lifting and manifestation. Isaiah 55:11 (KJV) tells us, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth, it shall not return unto me void but shall accomplish that which I please. And it shall prosper in the thing whereunto I sent it.”
The ability of God is in His word. “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” Psalm 107:20 (KJV). The word of God is ordained for our healing and deliverance. Just learn to have a new value for the word. See it the same way you see and treat God and things will begin to turn around for you.
It is the same word of God that created this world. So everything recognises and responds to the word of God. You will do yourself a lot of good if you hold tightly to the word and let it rule your life in every way possible. As you stick tightly to the written word (logos), the Rhema or voice of the word will become audible to you, and life becomes sweeter.
Study the word. Treat it as you do God. Pay attention to all it says and you will be the better for it.
Prayer: Father, implant in me a desire, a crave and a thirst like never before for Your word.
