Topic: Persistence removes obstacles
Bible Reading: Daniel 9-10; 2 John 1.
Memory Verse: “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.” Daniel 10:13 (KJV)
The Bible tells us that if your friend comes to you at midnight asking for a favour and though your family has slept and you are also on the bed, even if you will not rise because he is your friend, you will go and attend to him because of his persistence (Luke 11:5-8). That is the power of persistence. When you need something, ensure you follow up with it consistently, after a while you will achieve your goal.
Similarly, if you have a tap that is not well locked and drops water consistently. If you put a bucket to collect the drops and you leave that dropping for a day and go back the following day, you will be surprised at the volume of water that would have gathered.
Though the drop of water itself is not significant, the consistent dropping of the water accumulates and become huge volume. This is how your consistency gives very positive results. It makes you achieve a result that you otherwise think impossible. In our Bible reading today, Daniel set out to pray to God but his answer did not come on time. However, he kept on praying and then an Angel of the Lord appeared and told him his prayer had been answered immediately he made a request but someone delayed it! “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.” Daniel 10:13 (KJV)
When you need anything and you call on God, please do not be discouraged if you do not get instant answer, just continue praying until the answer comes, you will surely get it if you remain persistent. That is why you should also remain focused and persistent in whatever you do, certainly the results will come though it may delay. The Lord Jesus says so in Luke 11:9 (AMP), “So I say to you, ask and keep on asking, and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking, and you will find; knock and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” However, you also need to ensure you are living a life of obedience to the words of God in order to achieve the desired result. So, if you are not born again, please confess your sins to God, repent of them and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and see how your persistence breaks every obstacle on your way.
Action point: Be persistent in your prayer life and you will see positive changes.
