Bible Reading: 2 Chron. 5; Phil. 4:1-12,
“So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.” -2 Chronicles 5:14 (KJV)
When King Solomon completed building the house of God in Israel, he decided to bring the Ark of God from the City of David to the church and he assembled priests and Levites to praise God. The Glory of God fills the house in such a magnificent manner. The bible says in 2 Chronicles 5:14 (KJV), “So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God.” This indicates that God was in the house!
But what brought God down in this instance? The bible says in 2 Chronicles 5:13 (KJV), “It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord ; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord , saying , For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord ;”
So God came down because of the praise and worship of the people. Same thing happened when Paul and Silas were praising God in the prison. Acts 16:26 says suddenly, there was a great earthquake, the foundation of the prison was shaken and the doors of the prison were opened while the bands were loosed as well.
God comes down Himself when we sing praises unto him. However , such praises must be sang in true love for Christ and focus on Him. In addition , the praise must be done in holiness. In 2 Chron 5:11, the bible says that all the priests were sanctified. Since we know that God does not behold iniquity, we need to cleanse ourselves and be sanctified to be able to bring God down.
When God comes down, obstacles are removed, bondages are destroyed and problems give way to solutions.
As you worship God today, every obstacle on your way shall be cleared and you shall move forward in Jesus name.
Action: Sanctify yourself and worship God for 1 hour today.
