Bible Reading: Psalm 107
“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” – Psalm 107:20 (KJV)
When the Israelites left Egypt, they were glad they had finally been set free from the slavery of Egypt. But along their path, a major challenge came as they faced the Red Sea and the Egyptians were behind chasing after them to bring them back to Egypt. The Israelites were so traumatized that they felt they would have been better under the Egyptians slavery. However God surprised them when they called on him to come to their aid. He parted the Red Sea and made way for the them to pass through but also used the same Red Sea to drown their enemies, the Egyptians.
What is the challenge you are facing and you think it may lead to your unimaginable suffering, failure, sorrow or even death? God is ready to make way for you and resolve the challenge. He has done it before and he will do it again because Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) says “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” He is forever the same and ready to forgive. He is ready to save you from your problems only if you can call on him. Psalm 107:19 KJV says “Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.”
All that God expects of you is to recognise that you have sinned and to ask for mercy and extoll his name, and he will forgive you and restore you. King Nebuchadnezar was proud and shared the glory of God and the Almighty turned him to an animal. But after spending some years in the bush, he recounted and gave glory to the almighty and God in his infinite mercy restored him. He says in Daniel 4:36-37 (KJV) “At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me. Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.”
What are you facing right now? God is ready to forgive and set you free. The bible says, in Psalm 107:20 (KJV) “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” So all you need is to hear the word of God, accept him and apply his words by praying to God using the relevant part of the bible to your current challenge and He will deliver you.
Prayer point: Father, send your word to me and deliver me from my current challenges in Jesus name.
