BIBLE READING: 1 KINGS 16-18, JOHN 1: 29-51
Memory Verse: “And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God”. John 1:34(KJV)
One of the best things that can happen to anyone is to have a good testimony. A good testimony stems out of a good character. When you have dealings with people and all they have are negative reviews, it can hinder your progress in life. There are certain jobs, promotions, benefits that can come from recommendation based on how well behaved you are. Your next level breakthrough could be in the hands of someone whose testimony of you is all you need. In the ladder of life we always need benefactors, which is why it is very important to be of good character at all times.
Many people have failed in business and missed out on several opportunities to hit greatness due to bad character which preceded them. Our Lord Jesus while on earth, was a man of impeccable character. Little wonder even Pilate himself examined him and said in Luke 23:4 (KJV), “Then said Pilate to the chief priests and to the people, I find no fault in this man”. God testified of Abraham in Genesis 18:19 that He knew Abraham would command his children after him to follow after God. Hebrews 11:5 tells us of Enoch, how he pleased God. Job 1:1 gives us a testimony of Brother Job.
Today, many Christians have given unbelievers reason to mock Christianity due to their bad character. We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. People are meant to come to Jesus through our character and not the opposite. In your workplace, do you live by the world system and see nothing wrong in conforming to their practices? It will interest you to know that when the chips are down and they want a person of integrity, they start looking for a genuine child of God. In Acts 6:3, we see the apostles searching for men of honest report to commit a certain assignment to them. In this kingdom, there is no room for compromise. Let men see you and be able to testify that you are indeed a son of God. May I end with this question. Who do men say you are?
Prayer: Lord, please help me to have a good testimony.
