Topic: Nothing is hidden from God
Bible Reading: Ruth 1-4; Luke 11:29-54.
Memory Verse: “The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.” Ruth 2:12 (KJV)
Nothing is hidden from God. Even things done without any witness or under cover of darkness are not hidden from God. Psalm 139:9-12 (KJV) says, “If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; [10] Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. [11] If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. [12] Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.”
Thus, in our passage, all Ruth did to Naomi were known by the Ebimelechi family. When Ruth was expressing surprise at the generosity of Boaz to her, the latter responded in Ruth 2:11 (KJV), “And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother-in-law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.”
I am sure Ruth was surprised but truly nothing is hidden under the sun. Whatever you do is known to God Almighty. If you know this, what then is your reaction? It means all your deeds are known to God and you will be rewarded for them, either here on earth or in hell or heaven depending on your relationship with Christ. In fact, you will give account of even the words you speak. Jesus said in Matthew 12:36 (KJV), “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.”
As Boaz said to Ruth in Ruth 2:12 (KJV), “The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust”, Can someone pray for you like this? Are you proud of all you do? If not, there is an urgent need to change those you are not proud of and move closer to God because truly God will recompense your work! It is therefore important to make the changes now as tomorrow may be too late.
Prayer point:
Father, please examine me, forgive me of all sins I have committed and give me the grace to live above sins in future in Jesus Christ’s name I pray.
