Bible reading: Proverbs 13
“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a company of fools shall be destroyed” -Prov. 13:20 (KJV)
The company you keep is so important. Your associates either inspire you to greatness or cause your downfall. The Bible also instructs us to follow those who through faith and patience obtained the promises. ( Hebrews 6:12). As you associate with people with proven record, their wisdom will rub off on you. They might be younger than you or older than you, it doesn’t matter. Their Wisdom can come on you through their books or audio materials. Just stay humble and teachable. What could have taken you years to find out by yourself, the right association can give you. Even the young Jesus at age 12 associated with the teachers of the law in His own time ( Luke2:46-47). So be careful about your association, they will either pull you up in life or bring you down.
Action Plan: Make a list of your close associates. It has been said, that your life today will be as it is in 5 years time, except for the books you read, the places you go and the people you associate with. Make an effort to prayerfully ask God to lead you to people that will inspire you to greatness in Christ.
