Bible Reading: Psalm 82-84; Romans 8:19-39.
Memory Verse: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 (KJV)
We are into real estate development in my company and we acquired some parcels of land for development of residential estates. Then we estimated the cost of putting infrastructures on the site and on the basis of that, we started selling at a decent margin. Then there was demand for filling the land with laterite and we did not estimate the implication of this new demand quite well before we adjusted the price and continued selling. Then after a while, we could not sell anymore. I prayed, fasted, and sought the face of God asking for sales but it refused to come!
After about two years without any sale, we sat down and reviewed everything all over again and did a new estimate due to increased cost and found out that if we had been able to sell at the old price, we would have either been unable to deliver the promised infrastructures to buyers of the site or we would have incurred so much loss that the company would have been bankrupt or required special miracles of God to survive. It was then I realized why my prayers on the sale appeared not to have been heard. But in deed everything that happened was for our good!
I don’t know what you are going through and all your call on God appear not to have been heard, the Lord is saying to you in Romans 8:28 (KJV), “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
As long as you are born again and living a life of obedience to the will of God, if you pray and it appears your prayer is not answered, remember God loves you and is working things out for your good. Just continue in living your life of obedience and ask God why your prayers appear not to be answered. He will tell you as long as you are ready to hear and not think that answering you in your own way is the only solution to your problem.
However, you must have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and be living a life that pleases him to rely on Romans 8:28. If you are not born again, you need to call on God and repent of your sins, accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, study the word of God regularly and begin to live in accordance with his word and He will always look out for your good. Remember, God knows those who believe in him and they know him (John 10:14). Does God know you as his own?
Action Point:
From today, believe his word in Romans 8:28 and remain his disciple and you will see lines fall in pleasant places unto you.
