TOPIC: THE BLESSING TRULY MAKES RICH
“The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it” – Proverbs 10:22 (Kjv)
When God made the first man and woman and put them in the Garden of Eden, He put a spiritual empowerment upon them called ‘the Blessing.’ The Blessing is what would cause Adam, Eve, and all of humanity to excel in everything desirable that God had asked them to do.
Genesis 1:27-28 says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God BLESSED THEM, and God SAID unto them, Be FRUITFUL, and MULTIPLY, and REPLENISH the earth, and SUBDUE it: and have DOMINION over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” God empowered the man and woman He created with the Blessing for the purpose of dominion. Without the Blessing, life would have been an endless struggle, which is the missing element in the labour of some believers. Living and walking in dominion is not down to your self-effort. You could have a product or service that you have invested yourself in and yet not be patronized because it is the blessing of God that makes people favorably disposed to you. This is why the first thing God made man aware of was ‘the Blessing.’
If you take a close look at the words, “fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue and dominate”, you will agree that these all require life, power, or vitality to be possible. Nobody can be fruitful or subdue without life or power. This means that from the beginning of time, God knew that creation would run wild and would only respond to humanity by an active force. This singular reason makes it foolish for anyone to think that they can effectively function in this earth realm of life without the blessing.
God imparted ‘the blessing’ to man through words. Genesis 1:28 says, “… God BLESSED them, and God SAID unto them…” Literally it means that God blessed them by speaking; He spoke words that spiritually empowered them to produce or become. Today’s text says it is this unseen tangible force released through spoken words that, “… MAKES [TRULY] RICH, and He adds no sorrow with it. Glory to God!
True wealth responds to the blessing of the Lord and in Christ Jesus, you are blessed! Ephesians 1:3 says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every SPIRITUAL BLESSING in the heavenly places in Christ.”
The truth is you cannot be blessed and remain poor! Stand firm in the Word of God and the prophetic words declared over your life because it is the reason everything and whatever you do prospers and keeps you moving from glory to glory which is God’s design for your life in Jesus name.
