Bible Reading: Psalm 78 & 79; Romans 10
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” Romans 10:9 (KJV)
God has made salvation available to all, yet, only a few are taking advantage of God’s mercy. Many reasons are can be attributed for this, among which are ignorance on the part of people, and traditions.
Many Jews still hold on tightly to the law of Moses as the only way to come to God. They believe they must do all the law says if they must come to God. This they have practised all their lives, yet still far from God. Ignorance will not make them see that Christ has fulfilled the law for man.
Since Jesus’ death and resurrection, man does not die eternally for his own sinful acts or for Adam’s sins. He is destroyed for not accepting the salvation of Jesus Christ. This is especially seen amongst the Jews in Paul’s day who refused to believe in Jesus, but rather holding ignorantly unto the law of Moses, which ironically is pointing to this same Jesus.
Righteousness starts with believing in the Lord, Jesus, and accepting His finished work in your life. Then you start looking unto Him who has fulfilled the law on your behalf. Just believe in Jesus and you will fulfilled God’s Will for your life.
