…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading: Psalm 77,78; Roman 10

“Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved” Romans 10:1 (KJV)

God’s plan is clearly spelt out in 1 Peter 2:4 (KJV), “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” His purpose of creating man was for good and to bring him to an expected and glorious end. For this to happen, he must be saved and learn about Jesus, who is truth personified.

Many have committed their life to this plan of God – getting souls saved. Yet, there are still more work to be done. Jesus said the harvest is great but the workers are few (Matthew 9:37). Soul winning should be the number one priority of every true Christian because that is where God’s heartbeat is. Wherever a Christian is, be it in the office, or at school, in place of business, etc, reconciling the world to God should be our primary duty. Kingdom expansion should be our heart’s desire as true Christians. Many are not effective in soul winning because it is an endeavour that starts with having a heart for souls.

Paul made a mark in life because he aligned with the heavenly vision for his life. No wonder he could say in Romans 10:1 (KJV), “Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.” Paul lived a fulfilled life pursuing after souls till the end of his life. He didn’t walk with Jesus but got more revelations from Jesus than all the disciples who walked with Jesus because he totally put his heart into it. It is a heart thing. His heart desire was same as God’s desire – to see souls saved.

Remember, “for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” Matthew 6:21 (KJV). If you treasure His word in your heart then going out for souls will come naturally to you. This instruction to win souls to Christ is given to every Christian. We must bear this good news to the world to fulfil God’s plan for His beloved man. So, go out today and by the help of the Holy Spirit and reaper angels win souls into the Kingdom or you can support the army of the Lord on the go with your prayers for effective result in their endeavour.

Prayer: Dear Father, it is never too late to come to You, for this reason help me to take your word to my heart and act on same naturally, especially in the area of soul winning in Jesus name.
