…Spreading the gospel of Christ

WORD MEDITATION: 09/10/2023

Bible Reading: Isaiah 39-40; Colossians 1

“For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” – Psalm 139:13-14

The foundation to a fruitful and successful life begins by appreciating who God has made you.

To celebrate others at the expense of yourself or to treat yourself harshly than you would others are signs you don’t appreciate who God has made you to be.

King David was not a ‘perfect’ person. In sharp contrast to King Saul, he was not tall in stature. He was not born into a noble family yet he was grateful for who God made him. He did not move with a complex.

He understood that he was first ‘David’ in God’s heart before he was given a physical body and an environment to live in. He understood that God did not make a mistake. He didn’t define himself by his environment, what he had or did not have, rather he defined himself by the One who created him – God!

David thanked God and appreciated himself. He saw himself as God’s creation and exclaimed, “… What a creation!” You should be able to say that about yourself. Appreciating yourself for who God has made you will greatly affect your self-esteem and free you to be yourself because nobody is really better than you. You are simply amazing!

Rather than go around being sad and having a negative attitude, take sometime today to celebrate God and don’t forget to appreciate yourself for who God has made you. If nobody takes you out on a date, take yourself out.

The truth is, everything around you might not be right ‘yet’ but it does not mean YOU are wrong. Just because something did not work out as planned doesn’t mean things are not working. That the car did not start doesn’t mean your life is on hold. That you woke up in the morning, means God is at work in your life. When you start to thank God for WHO He has made you, everything will begin to fall into place in your life. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”- Philippians 2:13.

Never forget that you are God’s best version of you.

Prayer: Father, I thank You because I am wonderfully and marvelously made and perfectly suited for the Your purpose for my life.

Pastor Alfred Samuel

Bible Reading: Job 5,6&7; Acts 8:1-20 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all” Psalm 34:19 (KJV). Most people have the wrong believe that when we serve God we will not have afflictions. This is not in tandem with the teaching of…
