Bible Reading: Genesis 24,25,26; Matthew 8:1-17
“And behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed” Matthew 8:2-3 (KJV)
All sicknesses and diseases came to man as a result of sin. Man’s fall in the garden of Eden opened him up to the devil, who would stop at nothing but to destroy God’s masterpiece creation. He is a thief, and Jesus told us in John 10:10a (KJV ), “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.”
Sicknesses are mostly spiritual; there is a spirit behind every sickness. Recall, the devil told God in Job 2:4-5 (KJV ), “And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. [5] But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.” The devil’s aim is to put man in difficult situation health-wise, such that man will see God as uncaring and curse Him, leading to destruction.
God, by His breath into man, gave him divine health (Genesis 2:7). That nature can never be sick. It drew life directly from God. Man lost that nature when he chose to listen to the devil. However, God, in His mercy and love for man provided healing to make man whole. This, He did, by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, who Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses (Matthew 8:17).
It is on record that Jesus healed all the sick that came or was brought to Him. He is still the same today; He never changes (Hebrew 13:8). Still healing people by the power of the Holy Ghost. His mission is to do God’s will here on earth and healing is His permissive will. That sickness must not remain in your body. Call on Jesus today, He heals willingly.
