Bible Reading: Genesis 25-26; Matthew 9:1-17
“And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.” Matthew 9:2 (KJV)
Faith is the demonstration of confidence in God. Believing God and His word spoken through His angels, prophets, and His Son, Jesus, brings heaven down to us here on earth. Your Faith in God must be protected. Faith is of the heart and the bible admonishes us in Proverbs 4:23 (KJV), “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”
The heart when guarded and trained to walk with the Spirit will be free to receive all that God has given. God is a spirit and His blessings are first spiritual. Ephesians 1:3 (KJV) says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:” Therefore, faith is the currency used to purchase all that God has given us spiritually.
In the memory verse, the scriptures said Jesus “seeing their faith,” attended to the man sick with palsy immediately. He attends to anyone with this currency of faith immediately. Like He did in Matthew 8:6-13 to the centurion whose servant was sick. Jesus still heals today on the condition that you must develop and grow your faith in Him.
There are so many people who are challenged health-wise today. God has given us the solution to all problems. Jesus is the solution. For as many as believed in Him He gives eternal life or the God-kind of life. Learn to grow your faith in God.
