BIBLE READING: LEVITICUS 8, 9, 10; MATTHEW 25:29-46 (KJV)
“And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left” Matthew 25:33 (KJV)
There are decisions we make in life that have temporal effects but there are choices and decisions that have a far reaching effect. As free moral agents with right of choice, action and decision, the effect of our choices, decisions and actions should be seriously considered to enable us please God and find fulfillment here and hereafter.
Most people live their life without eternity in mind. It must be known that we will all account for our choices, actions, inactions, decisions and activities on earth. All those that accepted Jesus as Lord and submit to his Lordship are here regarded as sheep. Those that fail to yield to the Lordship of Jesus are goats.
There is a day of accountability and distinction. God himself will separate the sheep from the goats. The sheep will be granted access to God’s right hand while the goats will be at his left hand. God’s right hand is the place of acceptance, a place of joy and peace but the left hand is the place of everlasting torment.
Our choices, decisions and actions in this side of life will determine where we will spend eternity and what eternity will hold for us. It is expedient that we keep eternity in clear focus as we live our lives from day to day.
Prayer: Dear Shepherd, help me to remain a loyal sheep that hears your voice and follows you.
