…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading: Song of Solomon 2

“Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether” – Song of Solomon 2:17 (KJV).

Some nights may look so long and unbearable because of pains or terrible nightmares; yet some nights may appear so short that one will wish it could be prolonged. There are nights of pains and weeping but nights and darkness no matter how long will always give way to a new dawn. We all may have had seasons that inflicted us with excruciating pains. It could be some health challenges, financial, marital, career, emotional, relational, ministerial or spiritual. In such situation, we wish for a new season like one that waits a new day. Seasons are subject to change. “For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” –Psalm 30:5 (KJV).

Ugly and painful seasons may make one doubt God’s love, commitment and power to deliver. It may cause one to question God’s promises. The frustration that people often face come from wrong focus. Rather than focus on God, we often mistakenly focus on the problem and pain, hoping that will attract God’s attention. God does not want us to be objects of pity; faith draws his attention. Rather than focus on the problem or the pains, God wants us to always focus on him and the solution he has provided, for he will always make a way in every situation.
David shared his experience of passing through the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4). See his attitude and mindset; he understood that it is not an end of life’s journey but a pathway in destiny pursuit. He said I will fear no evil. The fact that there is shadow only shows there is light somewhere. Remove your attention from the shadow and focus on the light and experience a new dawn.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to see the new dawn.
