BIBLE READING : Proverb 8; 9; 2 Corinthians 3
“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God” 2 Corinthians 3:5 (KJV).
Some people mistakenly think they can rely on their knowledge, skills, certificate or connection. They often seem to rely on their innate ability without thinking about God. They live with the wrong mindset that they don’t need God to survive since they trust in their human strength. Why we cannot deny the wonderful exploits of men and the great fit man have achieved through science and advancement in technology, the fact still remains that God is behind every human achievement. You cannot take away God from human discoveries and the great innovations since it is God that gives the light of knowledge and understanding.
The best of man without God is altogether nothing. No man is sufficient of himself, the very life we have and everything we own come from God. It is foolishness and deception to ever think that man can achieve anything worthy of note without God. Pride makes man not to admit his limitations and inadequacies. He will rather attribute his achievements to hard work, industry and skills forgetting that a self made man does not exist. It is this constant denial of man’s need of God and man’s dependence on God’s help that has made many not to seek God.
Our sufficiency is in Christ, we are complete in Christ, He is our provider, our safety, our guide, or healer and our sustainer.
Prayer : Help me to always acknowledge my sufficiency in you.
