…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading: Hosea 5-8; Revelation 1.

Memory Verse: “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” Revelation 1:18 (KJV).

The Bible tells us of the people that were born but did not die. They are Enoch and Elijah. Concerning Enoch, the Bible says in Genesis 5:21-24 (KJV), “And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: [22] And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: [23] And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: [24] And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” So God took him to heaven and he is living there. There is no account of whether he knew or not when God was to take him.

However, in the case of Elijah, he knew he was going to be transported to heaven in a special way. This is stated in his conversation with Elisha (2Kings 2:10). And the Bible tells us how he was taken to heaven in 2 Kings 2:11-12 (KJV), “And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. [12] And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.” So none of Enoch and Elijah tasted death.

The only person that was born, tasted death and is still alive is Jesus Christ! He is the one that conquered death and therefore saved all those who accept Him as their Lord and Saviour from the fear of death! He says in Revelation 1:18 (KJV), “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”

The sting of death is sin and Jesus has forgiven all His disciples their sins, so death has been swallowed in victory, Halleluyah! He is alive pleading for those who surrendered their lives to Him. Have you surrendered your life to Him? Is He your Lord and Saviour now? If yes, you have no reason to fear death because when you leave this earth, you will go to a better place prepared for you by Jesus Christ. However, if you do not know the living one, death will not only sting you but you may end up in a lake of fire. But luckily, it’s not late yet, you can still conquer death by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, confess your sins to him, promise to forsake sins and to live in obedience to His word and He will forgive your sins completely. Please don’t delay, go to him now, he is waiting for you!

Prayer point: Father, please keep me in your presence till the end in Jesus mighty name.

“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil’’ – Ephesians 5:16(KJV). One can lose money and recover it. One can lose handset and recover it. But lost time cannot be recovered. This stresses the need to redeem the time by making the most of every opportunity at one’s disposal. Time…
