Bible Reading: Psalm 134:1- 3
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” – Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)
The Creator of heaven and the earth is our father, the Almighty. He created the earth out of nothing. He spoke and things came into existence. So the word that came out of his mouth set the creative machinery in motion. And the bible says in Genesis 1:27 KJV, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
So we are created in his image, and this implies that we are like him and should be able to do what he does. This means we should be creators as well. But very few of us are creators. Why are many of us not creators like our father? There must be some things we are missing.
The word of God says in Luke 17:6 KJV: “And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamore tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.” So our faith is the enabler that will make us command what is not into existence. The bible further shed light on this by telling us that our words, like the words of our creator, are living spirits. John 6:63 (KJV): “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
Thus, every word that comes out of our mouth when mixed with faith becomes a living spirit and it goes forth to achieve its purpose for which it is sent. That’s why you can decree that a head ache should disappear and the ache disappears and the sick person is healed. This is why Proverbs 18:21(KJV) says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” But this is if such pronouncement is backed with faith.
Such faith grows with relationship and experience with the author of our faith, Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Father, increase me in faith in Jesus name.
