…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading: The Song of Solomon 2:1-17

“My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies” – Songs of Solomon 2:16 (KJV).

True love has eluded so many people because they have not found the right person to relate with. You find love when you enter the right relationships where both parties involved find pleasure and satisfaction in the relationship. Most people find themselves in abusive relationships where the other party involved out of selfishness takes undue advantage of them. Such relationship turns out to be parasitic in nature where one preys on the other.

Apart from marital relationship, there is the most rewarding and the most fulfilling relationship that God calls us into it is a relationship between Christ and his children. This is a father-son relationship where the father becomes a friend closer than a brother. This relationship brings one into a lovely union with God that one can truly say “my beloved is mine and I am his”. It leads to sweet communion and intimate fellowship, such intimacy that is likened to a husband-wife relationship. Jesus becomes the beloved father, friend, brother and bridegroom while the believer becomes the bride, a lovely son and a friend.

God desires such intimate relationship with his children so he gave his son Jesus so he can achieve such union with man. He circumcised the heart of man, shared his love to abound in man’s heart and put his Holy Spirit to indwell the recreated man. He craves for the love of his children because he has first loved them. Have you come into this loving relationship; taste and see that the Lord is good.

PRAYER: Dear, Lord, thank you for so great a love.
