Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 17, 18, Luke 11:1-27.
“He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth” – Luke 11:23 (KJVS)
A story is told of a family that heard that vitamin C was good as immunity against COVID 19 and so all the members of the family were taking it regularly twice a day, except the grandma who did not believe in it and so refused to take it. Then the storm of Covid 19 came into the family and only infected the grandma. She was hospitalized and all medications used for her did not bring any improvement; rather grandma was getting worse. Then one of the family members suggested that grandma should be given vitamin c as she was the only one not with them on this. When both the doctor and the grandma finally agreed on this, within a few days, grandma’s health started improving. So it was deduced that because grandma was not with the rest of the family on building immunity against the virus, she became an easy target for the virus.
It is the same thing with Jesus Christ. You are either with him or against him. There is no neutral ground. That’s why he said in Luke 11:23 (KJVS), “He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth”. And he stressed this further in Revelation 3:15-16 (KJVS), “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. [16] So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth.” If you are not for him, you are against him. You cannot be partly in or partly out. Unfortunately, quite a number of those who profess to be Christians are neither in nor out because they claim to be in but still engage in outside functions. Those are regarded as lukewarm or neutral and there is no place for them as we saw in Rev 3:15-16.
If you are still engaged in adultery/fornication, stealing/cheating, slander, lying and all such sins, you are not with Jesus because you are expected to “Follow peace with all men , and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” Hebrews 12:14 (KJVS). Luckily, our God is ready to give you another chance to accept Jesus and amend your ways so that you can be with him from now till eternity. If you are ready to give your life or re-dedicate yourself to Jesus, just accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, confess your sins and ask him to forgive you your sins, promising not to go back to those sins anymore. And he will draw you closer and give you a new beginning.
Prayer: Father take away anything that will separate me from you in Jesus name.
