Topic: Stop staining your white garment
Bible Reading: Hosea 9-11; Revelation 2.
Memory Verse: “Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.” Revelation 2:20 (KJV)
Be watchful and do regular examination of yourself to know those areas of weaknesses that you need to address in order to be spotless before God. The Lord is watching everyone and noting the various actions. He can see all the good things you are doing such as your love for others. He knows you exhibit godly love towards everyone around you. He also know that you are a man/ woman of faith who truly trust the Lord. He can see that you are longsuffering, ready to be patient for the sake of Christ. In addition He knows that you also add good works to your faith to make you a complete child of God.
However, God is interested in your being spotless on all sides. Therefore, He is concerned about your tolerance of people who are hypocrites. He says in Revelation 2:20 (KJV), “Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.” So no matter how faithful or longsuffering you are you should not tolerate those who will corrupt others with their evil doctrines.
You may not be tolerating a Jezebel to have a free reign in your neighbourhood but may be tolerating a liar or agreeing with those whose doctrine says once saved, forever saved thus permitting other believers to commit all sorts of sin at will. Remember the word of the Lord, he will have such things against you and if you do not make necessary correction now, you may never make it to heaven. The Lord Jesus said in Revelation 2:16 (KJV), “Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.”
So it is important that you examine yourself and identify whatever you are doing that is staining your garment of righteousness and quickly repent and begin a life of total obedience to the word of God. This is why you should study the Bible regularly so that you can know those things that do not please God and desist from them. That’s why the Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV), “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
Action point: Examine yourself and repent of any action that does not please the Lord.
