“..their strength is to sit still”. – Isaiah 30:7.
God was unhappy with his people Israel because they would rather run from pillar to post seeking for protection and help than take shelter under his covering. In Isaiah 30:1 God pronounces woe on them, for taking counsel from the Egyptians and depending on them for a covering. In Jeremiah 2:13 He accused them of two sins; forsaking God who is the fountain of living waters and seeking help from men who are but broken cisterns that cannot give or sustain life (Jer.17:13). In time of trouble and crisis what do you do? Panic? Run about in fear? The lord’s counsel in Is. 30:15 is:
- To return to God in healthy fellowship.
- Rest in his promises.
- In quietness
- In Confidence. The result will be salvation/deliverance and strength.
Prayer: Pray that the Almighty God should help you to not seek help outside his covering. Receive grace to be still in God’s presence during life’s challenges in Jesus name.
