Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 10-12; Luke 13:22-35.
Memory Verse: “When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:” Luke 13:25 (KJV)
Several people call themselves disciples of Christ but do not live according to the word of God and the Bible says in Matthew 7:16 (KJV), “Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?” When you see people who claim to be Christians and even perform miracles but their fruit do not align with the fruit of the Spirit, distance yourself from them. That is anyone whose fruit is different from that stated in Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV), ”But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” is a wolve in sheep clothing and the earlier you recognise them as such and move away from their religious practices, the better.
The Lord, Jesus Christ says of such people in our memory verse of today: Luke 13:25 (KJV), “When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:” He further stated that even when such people say they have eaten and drunk in His presence and taught on the streets, He would tell them He knew them not! (Luke 13:26-27 KJV).
As you read this devotional, you need to examine yourself if your fruit aligns with that stated in Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV). So you need to ask yourself, are you patient, peaceful, gentle, good and loving among others? If you are deficient in any of the nine parts of the fruit, you need to go to God and ask the Holy Spirit to help you identify the challenge preventing you from bearing the right fruit and then be intentional in dealing with it by the help of the Holy Spirit. In all these, you must remember there is always a part for you to play to get the desired result. This is why Apostle James says in James 2:26 (KJV), “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” What is the part you ought to play that you are not playing? You need to wake up and take the necessary action because if you do not correct such things now, they may lead you to departing from the presence of God and make you one of those unknown by the Lord Jesus Christ! I pray that you will not fall into such a class in Jesus name.
Prayer point: Father, whatever will make me become unknown to you, please remove from me in Jesus name.
