TOPIC: IT IS YOUR SET TIME OF FAVOUR
Bible Reading: Ezra 1-2; John 19:23-42
“So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” Romans 9:16 (KJV)
Maybe you can never remember being ‘lucky’ in your life. Probably you’ve had everything come to you either by merit or right. The good news is that in Christ, favour prevails over labor and sweat.
In Christ Jesus, you are blessed, and God is well pleased with you (Proverbs 16:7). Let it register in your heart that the greatest decision you ever made was receiving Jesus into your life because it changed everything! With this understanding your life will begin to defy logic because God’s face shines upon you.
Don’t ever feel cheated in life because as a child of God everything in life works for your good. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God”(Romans 8:28). Never get jealous, angry, bitter or even try to malign and find faults with others.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 (KJV) says, “I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but TIME AND CHANCE HAPPEN TO THEM ALL.” I love the way the Message translation renders it: “I took another walk around the neighborhood and realized that on this earth as it is— The race IS NOT ALWAYS TO THE SWIFT…” That means there is absolutely nothing wrong with being strong, swift, smart or learned but scripture says that they aren’t ALWAYS the ones that win in life neither are they ones that are always rich. The bible says, “… TIME and CHANCE happen to them all …” Life is determined by time and chance. When you are in the right place at the right time and you meet the right people, right things happen and you get the right results.
For some it could be the right time, yet they are denied a chance and for others it is the reverse. There is a supernatural factor, however, called ‘the favour of God’ that makes time and chance to collide. It has nothing to do with your effort or ability but His favour! This is the core of today’s text.
God’s favour is because of His mercy. Psalms 102:13 (KJV) says, “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.” Your set time for change has come in Jesus name. Rise up and step out saying, it is my time!
Believe it and start walking in it.
Prayer: Father, thank you for seasons of favour. Directs my step to the right people, right places and creating the right moments in Jesus name. It is my set time of favour!
