Bible Reading: Hosea 12-14; Revelation 3.
Memory Verse: “Take with you words, and turn to the Lord : say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.” Hosea 14:2 (KJV)
Several decades ago, I gained admission to the Polytechnic and I came from an indigent family such that I could not buy most of the books talk less of paying for the lecturers hand-out. But I was determined to succeed in my course of study. So I devised two ways of getting the knowledge I needed. First was to borrow books from those who could afford it and promised to discuss the book with them thereafter. The second method was to go to the dustbin and cleaned the rejected and trashed handout, then arrange a legible complete or almost complete set for myself.
Both methods succeeded. And to achieve my goal, I studied the books I borrowed so well and was able to teach those that lent them to me. What I noticed is that I kept knowing more as I was teaching others. I ended up coming out the best in my class at the point of graduation.
In a similar fashion, I notice that if you devote time fellowshipping with God in praise, study of the word and prayer particularly praying in tongues, you get to know God more and you realise that Psalm 32:8 (KJV) “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” becomes real in your life. If you can add evangelism or teaching/preaching the word to it, you will be amazed how God’s words become so real to you. Romans 8:28 (KJV) which says “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” will become a reality in your life. You will begin to see the manifestation of the word in your life and if you live a life of holiness, you come to enjoy the life of a true believer. It is amazing and blissful but is better experienced. Not that there may not be storms but you will ride through such storms in peace such that at the end of it all, you will look back and know that an invisible hand has seen you through.
So you are enjoined to return to the Lord and give him your time. Ask him for mercy in every way you have sinned against him and express your love to him as expressed in Hosea 14:2 (KJV), “Take with you words, and turn to the Lord : say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.”
Action point: Commit to spending more time to fellowship with God and begin to enjoy the blessings of your being born again more than ever.
