Topic: Crown for Believers.
Bible Reading: Hosea 12-14; Revelation 3.
Memory Verse: “Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” Revelation 3:11 (KJV).
The Bible calls believers royal priesthood. So as believers, you should therefore expect to wear crowns when you get to your destination which is heaven. There are specific crowns mentioned in the Bible and below are some of them and what you can do to win such crowns. However, it is important to note that no matter how brilliant you are, you cannot win a prize at a graduation event if you do not qualify to graduate. So the first and most important thing is for you to make it to heaven. Its when you are there that you can win crowns.
Some of the crowns that you should aspire to win include:
Crown of rejoicing: This will be given to those who win souls into the kingdom of God. The Bible says in Luke 15:7 (KJV), “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” So if you are one of those who brings joy into heaven by winning souls, then you will be a winner of the crown of rejoicing as stated in 1 Thessalonians 2:19 (KJV) “For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?”
Also if you love God, endure temptation and are faithful unto death, you will get a crown of Life. Because you have put your life on the line for Christ then you can have the crown stated in James 1:12(KJV), “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.”
If you are constantly expecting the second coming of the Lord Jesus and it reflects in your actions then you may have crown of righteousness because you cannot be expecting the return of the Lord if you do not have faith in his coming and putting on his righteousness. This is clearly stated in 2 Timothy 4:8 (KJV), “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
There is the Eternal and Incorruptible crown which will be given to those who are temperate in this race and therefore run the race patiently. 1 Corinthians 9:25 KJV says “And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.” Fifthly is the crown of glory that will be given to all true shepherd who patiently nurtured the followers of Christ. 1 Peter 5:4 KJV says “And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.”
Prayer Point: I will end well and no man will take my crown in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
