…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Word Meditation: 12/1/2016

“And it came to pass, that on the morrow Moses went into the tabernacle of witness; and behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds”. – Numbers 17:8(KJV)

After the rebellion of Korah and his cohorts, God decided to put an end to the contention of Aaron’s priesthood. God requested that each of the tribe-heads brought a perfectly dead rods, twelve in number with the name of each tribe-heads properly written on their rods. Moses was instructed to lay them up at tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony. God Himself will confirm whom He has chosen for the office of the High Priest. God has to do this in order to forestall future agitation and unnecessary contention like the case of Korah.

From ages there have been religious contention among the authors of religion as to who actually came from God. Aaron’s rod is a type of Christ in resurrection, owned of God as High Priest. So all the authors of religions have died, Christ among them, but only Jesus Christ was raised from the dead, and exalted to be a High Priest. This is clearly illustrated by Paul in Hebrew 4: 14; 5:4-10(KJV) “(14) Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the son of God, let us hold fast our profession. (4) And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God as was Aaron. (5) So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, ‘Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee”. (6) As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (7) Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; (8) Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; (9) and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all men that obey him; (10) called of God, an high priest after the order of Melchisedec”.

From the scriptures above it is very clear that Jesus Christ was chosen by the Almighty God himself to be a High Priest among the numerous self-acclaimed authors of religion. This is the reason why you must surrender your life to him, the only true and God ordained High Priest among men who was made perfect through his obedience and suffering.

Prayer: Thank you heavenly father for making Jesus Christ available to consummate our redemption and our High Priest who intercedes for us in your presence daily. In Jesus Name.
