“Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye obey it in the lusts thereof”– Romans 6:12(KJV)
Leprosy as represented in the Old Testament is a type of sin. As in the Old Testament a leprous person was considered unclean, and such a person was sent out of the midst of the people into isolation. When sin reign in our mortal body, our spiritual being is polluted and unclean just as the leprous person is considered unclean. No wonder the bible says that sin is a reproach to any people. Sin pollutes and imparts negatively on a person’s personality. It is on this premise that the apostle Paul wrote in Romans 12:1(KJV) “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service”. Whatever puts a ‘but’ in your personality is leprous and such renders you unclean. Sin is a reproach and should be avoided. Sin ruptures destiny and puts a distance between you and your Maker. Sin defiles you and renders you vulnerable to satanic attack and manipulation. It removes the glory of God from you and incapacitates you by deflating your aura. Sin is indeed a reproach in the same group with leprosy. In our Christian race we must be dead to sin and alive to righteousness. Romans 6:11 says “Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord””.
Prayer: LORD grant me the grace to be totally dead to sin and alive to righteousness.
