Bible Reading: Psalm 51: Revelation 8:1-13
“And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour” – Revelation 8:1 (KJV).
I wonder what it looked like when there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. Heaven’s silence could mean confusion and lack of direction on earth. Five minutes silence could mean hell on earth.
Heavens silence could mean heaven staying action; it could mean a delay in expectation coming through. Heavens silence could mean God not speaking into someone’s life or one not hearing from God concerning an issue. Heaven’s silence could equally be to calm our anxiety and speak peace to our situation. It could be a way of God saying “peace be still.” Since heaven’s silence could mean a powerful voice to our situation, God simply saying, be still and know that I am God.
There comes a time when it appears that heaven is silent over our lives and circumstances. We can be so noisy that we misinterpret heaven’s silence to mean weakness, lack of love or ignorance of our predicament.
Heaven’s silence is neither ignorance, weakness or uncaring. Whenever it appears that heaven is silent, just know that God is working behind the scene to fix things for you. Just know that God is working for the good of those who love him and are committed to him.
Is there any area of your life where it appears heaven is silent? Simply relax and engage your faith, worry, cares and anxiety will rather worsen the matter but faith will engage God. “Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” – Philippians 1:6-7 (KJV).
PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to always discern your moves and your ways.
