Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 22, 23, 24; Luke 12:1-30.
“For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.” – Luke 12:2 (KJVS)
A married woman was looking for fruit of the womb and she had been to several hospitals without any positive result. Then she went to a man of God for prayers. While the man of God was praying, he said he noticed that the anointing flowing through his hand was not getting to the woman and he had to excuse himself and ask God why? And God spoke to him that he should ask the woman how many boyfriends she had. The man of God was reluctant because the woman was highly placed in the society. Finally he decided to tell the woman that God asked him to ask her how many boyfriends she had. To his surprise, the woman said six! You can imagine the surprise on the face of the man of God. How can a married woman with six boyfriends go to God for blessing of child bearing if not that she thought God would not know. She forgot that the word of God says, “For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.” –1 John 3:20 (KJVS).
Many are like this woman, engaging in many things against the will of God and still calling on the same God for blessing. They tend to believe that they have secrets that are unknown to men but they, unfortunately, forget that God knows all things. It is also noteworthy that all secrets shall be revealed either here on earth or in heaven. The Lord Jesus said this in Luke 12:2 (KJVS), “For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.” This is why it is essential that whatever you are doing that is not of God even if it is not known to any other person that you know, God knows about it and it is better to confess to him now and ask for mercy rather than wait till when it would be too late!
Proverbs 28:13 (KJVS) says, “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.” Whatever your secret sins, please confess to God today and ask for his forgiveness and he will show you mercy knowing that there is no secret that is hidden from God.
Action point: Check yourself and confess to God any secret sin in your life and ask for mercy. He will forgive you.
