TOPIC: BRING TO FULL TERM
Bible Reading: Ezra 3-5; John 20
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” – Colossians 3:16 (KJV)
The devil always tries to proliferate and adulterate the truth of God’s Word by trying to water it down to just mere concepts of human philosophies. In the early church some agnostics tried to make the disciples feel like Christ was a mere concept, a figment of human imagination and the Apostle John had to write a letter to them. He wanted them to know that Jesus was and is a person that lived in the flesh, and they walked with Him (John 1:1-2). He wanted them to know that they were relating with a real person.
Until the Word of God becomes a relatable personality to you as a child of God, you will never be able to experience the fullness of God. The Word of God is more than just some nice piece of advice that you put at the level of different sages or ancient words of the wise. The Word of God is actually a ‘person.’ God and His Word are one and the same. The bible tells us in John 1:14 (KJV), “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…” It is the Word of God that took on flesh and was manifested for us to see!
The bible tells us in 1 Peter 1:23 (KJV), “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” This means that the same way that the Word of God took on flesh and was manifested to us as Jesus is the same way that same Word of God has given birth to the personality called the ‘new creation’ through the born-again experience. For any believer to live a fruitful life, he/she must allow the seed of God’s Word to grow and begin to manifest everything that is in the character and nature of the seed of God’s Word which includes life, and all that God represents.
This is what Apostle Paul in our text tells the believers when He says to them, “Let the WORD of Christ DWELL in you RICHLY…” He wasn’t necessarily saying they should have ‘many’ verses of scripture in them, rather he was telling them to allow the Word of God in them to grow unto maturity (i.e. manifestation). The same way a pregnant woman will nurture a seed of life in her womb unto manifestation and eventually the birth of a baby.
It is not just enough to be a child of God, it is important that the Word from which you are born grows to full term such that your life become a manifestation of everything that the Word represents.
While there is nothing in your own strength that you can do to help the Word of God because it has inherent power to grow, it is your responsibility to create the right environment where the Word of God can thrive. This is why listening to messages, being in church meetings/events, listening to Christian faith filled music is very important to the well-being of God’s Word that is in you. Nurture the Word of God to full term today and become a living proof of everything that it says you are in Jesus name.
Prayer: Thank You Father for Your Word. Help me nurture Your Word in me to full term and become everything the Word says I am in Jesus name.
