Memory verse: “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15 (KJV)
The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is what the good news is all about. His death is for all; no matter the race, gender, tribe, religion, what you may have done or not done before, etc. He died for all while we were yet sinners. In the thick of our sins, He showed His love for us, accepting us in the way we were. Therefore, no one is to be condemned for an opportunity has been given to everyone to drop their former self.
The effect of His death was described in the bible in Colossians 1:13-14 (NKJV), “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, [14] in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” He took everyone to a new and a higher realm of life through his death and resurrection. The realm where darkness is now beneath us, sickness is now beneath us, everything that used to be a problem is now under our feet after translation to a new kingdom. In fact, the real life has just begun!
Paul was clearly a beneficiary of this grace of God and spoke more extensively about it. He used to be the one persecuting Christians until he had an encounter with Jesus. That one encounter changed his life for ever as he not only translated him spiritually, but even physically. It was clear for all to see and he testified about it boldly. So no matter what any might have done before, remember Paul, forgiveness and mercy has been made available if you are interested.
There are lots of people out there who are yet to know about the importance of the death of Christ in their life. His death paid for all our sins and failures in life. This means as one accepts Jesus Christ such a person is about to begin a new life, no longer living for himself, but unto Christ who rescued him from the power of darkness and has made a way for him to access all that Christ has.
What a privilege! Let’s endeavour to share this good news of Christ’s death to all for it is meant for all persons.
Prayer: Father, there are many out there You have ordained to be saved today. LORD, let me come across such ones today as I share the gospel of Jesus Christ today in Jesus name
