Bible Reading: Job 1; Hebrews 7:1-9
“In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly” – Job 1:22 (KJV)
God designed the world in such a way that situations are not on a straight course. As we have the morning, so also we have evening. As we have tall people, so also we have short ones. We have dark and light-complexioned people etc. Every one created on the surface of the earth should know that any event that attends his way is not in any way allowed to make a mockery of the grace of God in his life.
Job entered into his dark moment as a result of the permission God gave to Satan. The Scripture is explicit on that note when it says: “And the LORD said unto Satan, whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, from going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?” – Job 1:7-8 (KJV). The enemy engaged God in discussion because of the introduction that God made of Job, “Hast thou considered my servant Job…” This remark gave Satan audacity to talk back to God on the possibility of having access into job’s life. Thus, he says: “then Satan answered the LORD, and said, doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made and hedge about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land” – Job 1: 9-10 (KJV).
Satan was eventually given the permission into the life of Job (Job 1:12). Having secured the permission of God to deal with Job, Satan went with full force in an attempt to destroy him. At this, disaster upon disaster came upon the household of Job, he lost his property and his children. These catastrophes are very painful for any natural man to bear. In all that Job passed through, he did not charge God foolishly nor sinned. You can emulate this!
Are you currently going through your dark moment in life? What disposition are you putting up in it? Dark moments can be periods of confusion, isolation, loneliness, loss etc. Do you charge God for wrong doing whenever you are going through your moment of dark experience? Jesus Christ, our Master, experiened some dark moments too: “And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith Master, Master; and kissed him. And they laid their hands on him, and took him… and all forsook him and fled” – Mark 14:45-46, 48 (KJV). When you enter into your own dark moment, do not charge God with evil. May God help you in Jesus name!
Prayer Point: Dear Lord, help me so that dark moment shall not overwhelm my life in Jesus name. Keep me away from sinning at any trying time.
