Bible Reading: Job 31; James 3:10-18.”
“And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.” – James 3:18 (KJV)
Every born again child of God is expected to be righteous as Jesus gave you his righteousness the moment you gave your life to him. Romans 3:22 (KJV): “Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:” But that is imputed righteousness which is available to all. However, all Christians are expected to move from imputed righteousness to revealed righteousness. That is a state where your life reveals the righteousness of God. A state where your own will is subject to the will of God like Christ said in John 5:30 (KJV): “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”
For you to get to this stage, you must be a true branch while Jesus is the vine. The blood of Jesus must flow through you. Thus Jesus himself said in John 15:5 (KJV): “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” When you get to the level where your will is that of the Lord, then you fulfill what the Lord stated in John 15:5 that you bring forth much fruit! That fruit is the fruit of righteousness because your life is patterned after Christ, the righteous! The composition of the fruit is stated in Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV): “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
How then do you have revealed righteousness such that your life keeps revealing Christ? It is by fellowshipping with Christ. The revelations of Christ to you comes from your continuous intimacy with Christ such that over time, you willingly surrender yourself and you become like him. And this can only happen when you are at peace with the Lord Jesus as stated in James 3:18 (KJV): “And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace”. Then you can truly be called the child of God as Jesus stated in Matthew 5:9 (KJV): “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”
