Bible Reading: Isaiah 28:1-29
“Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.” – Isaiah 28:16 (KJV)
There are two peculiarities to the foundation in building construction. First is the type of building determining the type of foundation required. Second is that the taller the building will be, the deeper into the ground the foundation must go.
The storms of life come against believers and unbelievers alike. And no matter how bad the storm you face may seem, it is not any worse than what other people you may not know are going through right now (1 Peter 5:9).
The survival of your building during a storm is a function of the type of foundation you have built upon. The Lord Jesus told the story about building on sand and on the rock, showing how important it is to build your house on a rock — a sure foundation, an enduring substance. Matthew 7:24-25.
When Christ, the Rock, is your foundation, you have no reason to make haste or worry. He will take care of you.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I’m grateful for the assurance that you will never leave nor forsake me. Thank you for upholding me and seeing me through my troubles. Amen.
