Bible Reading: Psalm 91, 92 & 93; Romans 15:1-16
“There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” Psalm 91:10-11 (KJV)
Every loving parent will try as much as they can to protect their child or children from harm’s way. Even before a child steps out of the house, a lot of thoughts run through the mind of the parent as to how that child will fare on the way. All of these is because of the love the parent have for their child. Our God is no different. He is love personified.
Remember, God knows there will be evil on the earth. An angel said “.. woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath…” Revelation 12:12 (KJV). But God is the owner of everything in the world. “The earth is the LORD’S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” Psalm 24:1 (KJV). The devil can only attack you with things God created.
Again the bible said no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). No matter what the enemy throws at you God will defend you. Fire could not consume the three Hebrews because the One who created fire was with them. Lions could not eat Daniel because His angel shut their mouths. The only wise God will protect you from all evils as you choose to stay in Him. God sends His angel to keep us in the way like He did for the Israelites on their journey from Egypt to the promise land. His angels are still with us today.
Sometimes, evil happen to God’s people. If it does, it is because God allowed it, and for a reason. Remember Job; God was proud of him and boasted about him, He removed the hedge He placed around him, only then did the enemy have access to Him. The story of Job still blesses us today.
As you go out today, remember, the One who owns the world is with you. His angels are with you and His Spirit is in you. No evil shall befall you nor your family members, nor brethren nor your friends and neighbours in Jesus name.
