Bible Reading: Joel 1, 2, 3, Revelation 5.
Memory Verse: “Then will the Lord be jealous for his land, and pity his people.” Joel 2:18 (KJV)
The Love of God knows no boundary. That is why he can forgive you no matter how much sin you have committed as long as you come back to him in sincerity and show remorse over your previous sins. You must however give a commitment not to go back to sins again. This is why Jesus called Saul on his way to Damascus to repent and follow him inspite of the various persecutions that Paul had engaged in.
God saw his sincerity; that he was persecuting Christians thinking he was doing the right thing and when he was shown the light, he did it with even more vigor. No wonder he wrote more epistles than any of the disciples of Christ. God is always ready and willing to forgive a repentant sinner as long as you turn to him with all your heart. Joel 2:12-13 (KJV) captures this succinctly, “Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: [13] And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.”
Once you show remorse and call again on God, he will take you back. Joel 2:18 (KJV) says, “Then will the Lord be jealous for his land, and pity his people.” Our God is full of love and always willing to take back all those who have strayed out of his presence as long as they show they are ready to make amends.
As a Christian if anyone has offended you, you should have pity on him and forgive him knowing that your father in heaven has had pity on you before and forgave you your sins. Mark 11:25-26 (KJV) says, “And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. [26] But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
Prayer point: Father in the mighty name of Jesus, give me the grace to forgive those who trespass against me no matter how deep.
