Topic: Revelation of Secrets of God
Bible Reading: Amos 1-3; Revelation 5.
Memory Verse: “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” Amos 3:7 (KJV)
God is love and He loves us His creation. Thus, He reveals His secrets (hidden truths) to us His disciples in many ways. His word is forever settled. He says in Amos 3:7 (KJV), “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.” This is why you should also not forsake the assembly of brethren. Revelations of God’s hidden truths come through the true men of God and this is why the Bible enjoins believers in Hebrews 10:25 (KJV), “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
However, since the Lord Jesus came to earth to redeem us, He has released His secrets to us in different ways; firstly through Jesus Christ, the word of God. This is why Jesus says in 2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV), “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” So whatever instruction you need to live a life in line with the will of God is written in the scripture and that’s why you need to study it regularly to know, understand and live out what is written therein. Also God still reveals things to us through dreams and visions. The Bible says in Acts 2:17 (KJV), “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:” God reveals hidden secrets through dreams and visions. Several years ago, God revealed to me what I should do concerning my employment in a dream and further told me what would happen to the challenge being faced by my employer at the time. He has also revealed so many other things to me through visions and dreams.
More importantly the Lord Jesus told the disciples in John 16:13 (KJV), “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.” Sometimes He can reveal secrets to you by speaking loudly to you or through a still small voice within you. This is why you should fellowship regularly with the Holy Spirit so that He can reveal things to you and guide you in all your dealings. But He cannot do so if you are not living a life pleasing unto God. Firstly, the Holy Spirit will fill you if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and as you live in obedience and fellowship with Him, you begin to hear Him more clearly.
Praying both in understanding and in tongues, praises and worship are ways by which you can stay close to God and obedience is the way to walk closely with Him. Jesus said in John 14:21 (KJV), “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”
Prayer point: Father, help me to live a life of obedience to your words so that I can walk with You always in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
