“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” – James 4:6 KJV
The world today teaches one to blow his trumpet, to show the public his power, authority and position. It encourages pride. But interestingly an old adage says Pride goes before a fall. So anyone who is proud should be ready for a fall any moment. Unfortunately, proud people don’t ever imagine they could fall.
Imagine what happened to Nebuchadnezzar when he felt he achieved all he did in his power. In Daniel 4:30 KJV: “The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?”
While he was still speaking, God spoke to him from heaven that the kingdom was taken from him that moment! And he became an animal. He was in this situation for seven years until he gave the glory to God and recognized Him as the Everlasting dominion.
Thereafter, his position was given back to him. He regained his kingship. The bible says in Daniel 4:36 of King Nebuchadnezzar, “At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.”
Thus as stated in James 4:6 KJV, “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
Whatever your position or status, give all glory to God at all times in all situation you may find yourself and see how God will lift you up.
Action: Call God by some of his names and extoll his virtues and praise him deeply for about 30 minutes.
