…Spreading the gospel of Christ

WORD MEDITATION: 15/03/2023

Posted on

Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 26-27; Mark 15:1-26

“The governor answered and said unto them, whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. Pilate saith unto them, what shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified” Matthew 27: 21-22 (KJV)

What a choice humanity made in order to consummate the prophecy concerning Christ. Humanity made a choice through the Jewish nation between good and evil, righteousness and unrighteousness, light and darkness. They requested the crucifixion of the righteous one and requested to be released to them a gang leader and murderer. What a choice! This choice has lingered throughout the ages. Today, man continue to choose darkness over light, they embrace evil at the expense of good. Over the ages that the gospel of life has been preached what percentage of humanity has accepted Christ when compared to those who heard the gospel and rejected it?

Man will always prefer the brief luxury of evil to the prolonged waiting of righteousness. This is one of the aspect of humiliation that Christ suffered openly in order to save us – Rejection. It is painful to be rejected but it is agonizing to be rejected by your own people whom you came to deliver from their enemy. It can only take the kind of God’s love for Christ despite His rejection to forge ahead in providing salvation to humanity. No wonder then the bible says ‘For God so loved the world……’ The word so loved is used because that love surpasses human understanding. The scripture said that “He came unto his own, and his own received him not” John 1:11(KJV).

However, my dear readers, we have consolation in His grace because He has made provision for us, “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in his name” John 1:12 (KJV). We must not allow the lure of the world system, the temporary luxury of sin and the enjoyment associated with the world system which are temporary make us turn against God’s love extended to humanity. Accept Christ today and be on the side of victory and be delivered from eternal condemnation.

Prayer: Father grant me the grace to always remain in the path of righteousness.
